A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
"'Good' nonfiction is a notoriously difficult aesthetic to pin down. At Touchstone, we welcome submissions that embody the spectrum of difference within this genre. At its most general sense, great nonfiction is compelling—it explores the micro and macro levels of meaning inherent in how we understand what it means to be human. Successful nonfiction conveys pivotal moments of realization or actualization that reflects the true diversity of lived experience. Well-developed characters, a cohesive plotline, and well-articulated prose all contribute to the 'staying power' of excellent nonfiction. Whether you write about the hilarious or the harrowing, our editors are interested in stories that leave us reveling in its impact.”
